Yuzu Bathing in Winter Day (Touji)

22 December is special day in Japan.

TOUJI means Ultimate Winter Day in Japan.

That is : We have shortest day time and longest night time  on Dec. 22  through the year.

Traditionally, we take bath with floating Citrus cut and enjoy   its flavor and absorb medicinal extracts through skin.

The Yuzu (Citrus jyunos) is used for herbal bath.                        Cutting  the fruit  5 to 6 pieces and float  on hot  water.

The extract medicinal material promote blood current and make skin smooth.   They say taking  Yuzu Bath make no cold through the year.  I do think this custom is one of Traditional Aroma therapy.
